Can you wear brown dress shoes with black slacks, shirt and tie?

This is for work, too.

Can you wear brown dress shoes with black slacks, shirt and tie?
generally in men%26#039;s fashion, the socks are supposed to match the pants and the shoes are usually the same color as well. i think it would really depend on what colors are in the shirt and tie.. if they are mostly brown then it would be ok but still not the best choice.
Reply:Always make sure your socks are the same color as your shoes. Black %26amp; brown go together, but in this case,I think not.

Every man%26#039;s wardrobe should include these basic dress shoe colors along with a selection outside the basic color dress shoe for those %26quot;special occasions%26quot;. Let%26#039;s start with the basics of a shoe color wardrobe, as this is the foundation, giving you freedom, choice and class in wearing a good looking shoe every time, with every clothing choice selection.

The most common, basic and classic men%26#039;s shoe color is black or cordovan a soft fine grained colored leather. That looks good with most suits. The next basic men%26#039;s dress shoe color is brown. A warmer toned shoe that looks good with tan or brown slacks, even khakis.

Another basic color men%26#039;s dress shoe is chestnut, a richer shade of brown that resembles a deep wood grain tone. This very classy men%26#039;s dress shoe looks great with tweed, silk or woven fabrics, in all earth tone colors. White is another classic, though less common, basic men%26#039;s dress shoe color.

Men%26#039;s quality, white, Italian leather dress shoes can really set off a nice suit! It%26#039;s like a statement shoe. It can pull an all white suit with any color of dress shirt together seamlessly for you. It%26#039;s also a great looking %26quot;accent%26quot; shoe, too. A black and white coordinated suit looks great. The above outlined shoes are your basics, they are foundational, as well as highly functional, when it comes to what color dress shoes all men should have.

Now let%26#039;s look at a few of the more %26quot;uncommon%26quot; color men%26#039;s dress shoes. These shoes are for those special occasions or when you want to step outside the lines just a bit. Burgundy is an excellent shoe color choice. Burgundy can coordinate with black, brown and even tan as long as you have a burgundy-toned belt, shirt or tie.

Oxblood is another men%26#039;s dress shoe color choice. It is a more moderate shade of reddish brown that looks good with earth tone suits as well as black suits. Taupe is a brownish gray and does go well with earth-toned suits, giving you yet another uncommon dress shoe color choice.
Reply:I think this sounds good, just don%26#039;t wear white socks.
Reply:yeah cause you can i think it looks smart!
Reply:whatever you think looks good, wear it. personally,I think the socks %26amp; shoes should match the pants.
Reply:Black and brown are neutral colors and can go with anything. Go with it!
Reply:no - the shoes would stand out

brown shoes - brown slacks and socks

black shoes - black slacks and socks

especially if it%26#039;s for work
Reply:No.

But you can wear black shoes with brown trousers, depending on the shades of black or brown.

Wear brown with lighter coloured greys or tans, and also be aware that brown can clash horribly with blue, particularly dark blue.

And for business, I%26#039;d not recommend a black shirt, unless 1) You are working for a criminal enterprise 2) You are working somewhere so artsy that you can wear whatever you want, or 3) Your job is being %26quot;Mr. Rourke%26quot; from Fantasy Island, or as a %26quot;well-dressed%26quot; cast member on any television show from the 80%26#039;s, or 4) You are a member of Nazi Germany%26#039;s Waffen SS.

If you work in banking, cororate america, accounting, finance, law, or anything traditrional, stick with a white, blue, yellow, or pink shirt, white being the best and easiest choice.
