What color makeup/shoes with a coral colored dress?

It's a clubbing event and I have a short coral colored dress. What color shoes - black or white, and makeup? I don't have much makeup to choose from but I'd like to include black for a smoky look - what would look better with it, pink, gold, or brown shadow? Thanks.

What color makeup/shoes with a coral colored dress?
white shoes. gold shadow.
Reply:for shoes black or brown, and for makeup, try black smoky eye with bronzer and just like clear lip gloss (only play up one feature at a time : D) also i dont really like pink eye shadow... i would go with gold or brown.

What would you expect to pay for a pair of nice men's dress shoes?

how much is too much?

What would you expect to pay for a pair of nice men's dress shoes?
My boyfriend has to wear dress shoes to work and he always pays over 100 dollars, he says if you get them cheaper then they are uncomfortable, and can only be worn for a couple hours before your feet start hurting. so i say if you can buys some at 100 and up you will like them better.
Reply:Anywhere from $80 - $200, depending on what exactly you're looking for. More than that is just ego.
Reply:Me- $900-1500

Most people- $50-$120

I love being rich...
Reply:if you have to ask, there to much.
Reply:Between 75-99 $US, you can get decent dress shoes. (Rockport)

I'd say between 100-200 $US is about right for a nice pair of dress shoes. (Johnston %26amp; Murphy)

For over $300 you can get better dress shoes that can be re-soled and last. (Allen Edmonds, Church's English Shoes)

zappos.com has a good selection w/ free shipping both ways

nordstroms.com has a good selection and sometimes offers free shipping as a promotion
Reply:At least $100. Anything less than that is unacceptable.
Reply:It depends on what you want them for and how long you want them to last. I've paid $180 for very nice pairs of all leather shoes. They hold up well and can always be taken to a repair shop if you destroy the sole or heel. I've also paid as low as $60 for a comfortable cheap pair with plastic soles. They look okay but if you are standing side-by-side with someone with quality shoes it shows.

So what you pay can really be based on the audience/settings you are going into. For the average office wear expect $150 or more. If you are trying to do high-end sales or marketing, then wear high-end clothes/shoes.

As to too much, that is up to you. If you feel shoes are too expensive then don't buy them. Regardless of what you pay, as long as you take care of them any quality shoes will last you a long time so look at them as an investment in your career.
Reply:I would think around $160 is a nice upper end price of dress shoes.

They should also have a good sole %26amp; made of leather so you can expect them to last for 2-3 years at least.
Reply:I ONLY wear Louis Vuitton, Ferragamo's , and Bally.

I usually pay about 500 to 600 for a pair of shoes. I have over 5 pair of LV's and 4 pairs of Ferragamo's.

It's so good looking,

Try either little ballet flats (in the colors silver, black, or white) or u can try nice heals (same colors as the first three i showed u). U can also try some pumps! (same colors) hope this helps! have fun at the party!
Reply:Poss a dark red shoulder shrug, good for adding a splash of colour. If its an informal party, black tights and red heels to match. If its a formal cocktail party, sheer tights and smart cocktail shoes, heels as high as you are comfy with. Its quite a low neck so a chocker necklace, silver coloured. Hard to give exact advice as do not know what suits you. Hope you have a great time!

How can i totally get GUM off my the bottom of my expensive dress shoes?
There's a product called "Goo Gone" it removes gum, tape, tree sap, just about anything sticky. Just make sure you don't get any of it on the top of your shoes, it might stain. Good Luck!

I have very small feet for a man; It looks unproportional and my dress shoes look stupid. How do I accept it?
I will be able to answer this question more effectively if you tell me what size your feet are x x
Reply:It is poddible to wear soes 2 or 3 sizes larger and have special liners fitted. However, if you are short you feet would naturally be smaller that the average.

Vertainly you are must more adepts at stepping around in smaller places. That is one advantage.

But custom liners can be the answer and alsobe transferrable to each pair of shoes you have.
Reply:I have small feet - size 7 1/2 and am 5'10'' so slightly disproportionate but not troublesome.

In some stores they sell brown flip-flops that have jewels on them, I think they would look nice on you!
Reply:Brown...pink if the dress has more pink than brown...
Reply:Wear something that doesn't stand out either black or chocolate color. It doesn't really matter whether it's boots or shoes or flats, just doesn't have to stand out, so that people would notice your dress, more than your shoes.

Is it okay to wear black socks with brown slacks and brown dress shoes?

I don't have any brown socks and I don't see many brown socks at the stores or on other people. Is it fashionably okay to wear this combination, or are people secretly laughing at me?

Is it okay to wear black socks with brown slacks and brown dress shoes?
no,try knee highs/stockings
Reply:You shouldn't worry if people are laughing at you. Yo

u should be happy you have clothes in the first place. Do you think homeless people are worried about what color of socks they have? They are just worried about having socks.
Reply:oh god - drink more alcohol who the f-ck cares - i wear socks with sandals and i dont give a ratsass
Reply:no! black and brown is the worst combination sorry!
Reply:No.
Reply:It'll work but if you cannot find brown socks in the area in which you live, go online and shop for them.
Reply:black with brown??....geez...do u live in a trailerpark?...my mom taught me to wear purple or lime green socks with brown slacks....this would be for a business meeting...but if you are going to a club or trying to get some guys attention try vomit green or pink socks with your slacks....last time i wore that outfit a whole group of guys ran a train on me....so it all depends for what occassion you are getting ready...
Reply:No I definitely would never do that. I have been taught never to wear anything brown with black (vice versa) since I was very little.

Try wearing hose under your pants if you have them...
Reply:Most people would turn their head at your socks...really hunny, no one cares enough about your feet to take too much notice. Unless you're blatantly showing it off, it's fine.

I like the second dress. The great thing about that color, is just about anything will go great with it. Personally, I would match it up with a pair of red high heels. That would be a hot look! :)

How do I remove white paint scuffs from the sole of my dress shoes?

First I'd try just rubbing them off with a paper towel with some soap and water on it. If that doesn't work maybe try scuffing it away with a piece of fine grained sand paper or a nail file. Sometimes that works, and you can just wet the area after to get any little dust spots off. Hope that helps!

I really like all of the pieces you picked out... but all of the different shades seem to clash a little. Seperately they would be cute but for prom different shoes will really bring out the dress. You should probably get silver shoes and silver jewlery to go with the pink dress. Dangly earrings and a matching necklace would be really pretty with it. You should probably try these:

Reply:flats are better with that dress, but personally, i ahve got to day that the dress you chose has got to be the most hideous prom dress i have ever seen. if it was strapless or halter then it would be okay but come on, it looks like something you wear to a garden party or a church!
Reply:flats
Reply:The heels match better. Wear silver earrings and necklace. Wear ur hair up.
Reply:i would go with the flats
Reply:The flats are definitely better than the pumps..
Reply:i think both the flats and the pumps are too bulky for that dress, i think you may want to consider a more strappy heel, something that looks lighter and has less material.

also you may want to consider different colour combinations,

the all over pink may look a bit tacky.

very nice dress though.

For a very conservative interview (finance company), which is better, cap toe or plain dress shoes?

Sandals with white socks

For a very conservative interview (finance company), which is better, cap toe or plain dress shoes?
A plain dress shoe is always the best choice. Make sure they are polished.
Reply:Total conservative. I've hired for finance and office positions, and as a woman, if you show up with cleavage, open toed shoes or anything sexy, I will not hire you. I'm an attractive female, but I don't go to work and sure as heck not an interview, in anything that is remotely sexual. If your pretty or attractive, DOWN play it big time, as being too pretty hurts anyway, so make your self as plain as possible, or the men and women will NEVER respect you.

Here's a hint: Nothing "fashionable" you want classic and stuffy - the perfect out fit, IMO, is a black or dark blue navy suit, (not those short pant suits or tall boots over the pants) white or gold shirt under, totally buttoned up, and your hair down or in a low pony tail. Conservative make up, shoes and purse. Bring a black or dark colored binder with your resume and a notebook to take notes.

A high pony tail comes off to most like your flirting or don't take it seriously, open toed shoes or anything that makes you look more pretty that smart, just means to most your hear to flirt. Maybe you aren't, but don't start off on the wrong foot!

IF you want to answer the phones, dress young, pretty and sexy. If you want to work with people's money, dress like you mean it, not like your hear to chit chat. :)

Hope that helps!

Cap-toe. The most classic and well-known being the Allen Edmonds park-avenue. Plain-toes are a little too casual

How do you prevent foot odor from a long days work in dress shoes?

Use Baby powder ... it really works!

How do you prevent foot odor from a long days work in dress shoes?
Change your socks, however many times necessary. --- Or maybe change your laundry soap. .....
Reply:have more than one pair of shoes and make sure you rotate their usage. thereby giving each pair an entire day at least to air out.

and make sure your socks are 100% cotton for best sweat absorption.
Reply:foot powder and change your socks as often as you need to
Reply:dry your feet well before wearing shoes, use foot deodorant, don't reuse your socks but wear a clean one each time, etc. cheers!
Reply:This may sound weird, but deodorant/antiperspirants aren't just for under your arms. Spray your toes and the bottoms of your feet before putting on your socks. You don't even need foot deodorant.
Reply:Get yourself some inserts. They do make them for dress shoes. Also, get yourself some absorbant foot powder and keep a thin layer fresh in your shoes. Lastly, when you're showering or taking your bath, there are foot scrubs available, such as Bare Foot from Freeman, that will definitely help.

Good Luck!

LilD
Reply:Firstly, are your shoes good for you? You may need a kind that can breathe a little better.

Also, check your socks. You may need thicker socks that absorb sweat better.

Powders work somewhat well, but depending on your socks may not be able to actually reach your feet.

Insoles are also good so long as they don't cramp your space in the shoe. Most are pretty thin though.

You can also use sprays. I use this stuff called Approach. It's fantastic. I spray in the morning just to have it there when I go to work, then I slip my shoes off during my lunch hour, give a spray, the odor goes away, and after a few minutes I put my feet back in and head back to work. When I take my shoes off when I get home, I give them another spray and let them sit out. Keeps the odor from building up in them as well.

It's got no harsh chemcials so it won't harm the shoes at all, and it works really well. give it a shot.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
Reply:Wash those feet daily, clean socks... If the shoes were worn without above being done there may be an odor within the shoes...Put odor eaters in shoes and don't wear that particular pair of shoes for about week... Should clear up..
Reply:put baking soda in your shoes the night before work then shake the baking soda out of them in the morning before you put them on. also buy another pair of shoes and change off with them every other day that will help for sure.
Reply:I use odor eater insoles and I also use baby powder on the bottom of my feet before I put on socks / nylons. It also doesn't hurt to spinkle some in your shoes when your not wearing them.

Is it necessary to match chandelier earrings with the color of the dress/shoes you wearing?

absolutely not. Too many people think that they have to match all of their accessories. The colors in your outfit should just COMPLEMENT eachother. Don't, however, wear a mixture of gold and silver jewelry. go ahead and wear red shoes, with gold earrings.

I am looking for inserts that would go in high heeled dress shoes, that keep your feet from sliding down?
How do I know this answer. I have heard to use masking tape.
Reply:They sell them at most stores, Giant Eagle where I live, WalMart, etc.
Reply:may be socks
Reply:check out the link, i got these for my painful high heels and it works but it makes your shoes tighter so u might have discomfort elsewhere, but i guess its better than nothing.
Reply:Go to the drug store – Walgreen’s, or CVS, or whatever is near by and look at the Dr. Scholl’s inserts section there. They will have what you need.
Reply:Scholl Party Feet Gel Cushions provide invisible cushioning for the balls of your feet. They can help prevent the burning pain you can get from wearing high heels and the clear gel ensures that they are discrete to wear, even in the strappiest of shoes. They are washable, re-usable and can be stored in the pack between uses.

Why does my future daughter-in-law have to approve my dress & shoes before the wedding?

i'm so tired of the 'duh....its her wedding' answers. talk about spoiled bridezilla brats! sheesh. in answer to your question its not her place to tell her guests or family what they can nor can not wear.

her concerns are for her wedding party, period. trying to dictate what everyone else should wear is just a little controlling and tyranical.

having said that, if your outfit is entirely inappropriate then of course someone should tell you so. i have seen mothers show up in dresses suitable for twenty year olds. or dresses cut up to here, and down to there. or dresses exactly like the wedding party. or in all white dresses. one in all black with a funeral veil and hat.

i am sure you understand what i am saying - as long as you know how to dress yourself decently with style and class then i don't see that she has much to say about it.

Why does my future daughter-in-law have to approve my dress %26amp; shoes before the wedding?
Well, it's not that she HAS to but that she WANTS to. She wants to make sure you look your best, that the outfit is flattering to you, that the colors won't clash with the wedding decor (or you end up with pretty bad photos), and perhaps she just wants total control. If this isn't that big a deal to you, don't make it into one...I have a feeling it's more important to her than it is to you.
Reply:The idea of "coordinating the mother's dresses" is born from the idea that they should coordinate with the colors of the bridesmaids dresses, but not match them. Etiquette wise, the mother of the bride gets to buy her dress first. She is then supposed to let the mother of the groom know what color she bought, so they don't match, either. If there are stepmothers involved, they get to shop last.

The bride should only be involved if she is acting on her mother's behalf, letting you know what color she bought, so you can buy your dress. I don't think she needs to "approve" your dress and shoes as much as she wants to make sure they are not too formal or informal for the style of the wedding. If she used the word "approve", she may have just meant that she wants to see what you got, so make sure it goes with (coordinates with) the other dresses.
Reply:lol...I'm not into all this wedding guideline stuff. I say wear what you want, what you are comfortable in, what you feel like is appropriate. I'll be damned if someone tells me what I can wear to my own kid's wedding.

I personally feel like brides go a bit overboard on little things like this. Yes it is your day, but you don't have to go all crazy on the people you love over something so stupid.

If people put as much effort, time, and money into their actual marriage that they do on their wedding, our divorce rate would be a lot lower.

Good luck!
Reply:SHe doesn't HAVE to.

I would follow what Sarah and Kiki said, and be tellin her to "step Off"
Reply:To be sure that the various dresses' colors and styles will harmonize in the photos, so the everybody in the pictures kind of "goes together" with no one looking like they don't belong. I disapprove of brides dictatorially selecting other people's dresses, but I think it's appropriate for the bride to have "veto power" over what anyone in the ceremoney, receiving line, or head table will wear. (It's not like she's telling you have to wear a dress that you hate -- she's only asking that you NOT wear a dress that she hates.)
Reply:I don't know why she would have to approve of your dress and shoes. My mother in law asked me what she should wear to the wedding and I told her any color except

white, ivory, black (means you disapprove-I know I am old school) and red (bridesmaid dress color).

I suggested she just wear her favorite color (dark purple) she did. I recommended she wear comfy shoes too!

Everything turned out great!
Reply:Well, if your asking why she has to approve the dress and shoes of HER wedding then...

I think its obvious.

Its her wedding isn't it? Yes, it's your sons too but I'm pretty sure men could careless about what the women wear.

Just let her enjoy her wedding. :]
Reply:Bottom line...she may WANT to (badly!) but she doesn't GET to.

It's rude.

Tell her sweetly you are a grown woman who has been in charge of dressing herself for years now and she should not have any further concerns.
Reply:i have no idea.. my mother in law kept calling me to find out what my mom was wearing and then when she picked out her dress she needed a swatch of my color and when she bought it she wanted me to come over and approve it. .. i thought it was sweet that she wanted to make sure it was ok and looked good with my other girls dresses. as so my pictures would look good.my colors are pool and silver.. she got a light green dress and silver shoes :)
Reply:She's a control freak and doens't trust your dress sense!

If she doesn't approve, are you band from attending your son's wedding?
Reply:IF you are in the wedding, then you are just like the bridesmaids...the bride picks out your attire. If you are sitting in the pew and not involved it should not matter. I have seen some mothers show up in HORRIBLE age inappropriate attire. They feel that they can wear anything and look like what they are. 50 year old women trying to wear a 20 somethings clothes, horrible. I have also seen attire that is just not wedding appropriate at all, much less for a mother. This is her wedding and if you want to be in it, then just like the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, you wear what is requested or approved of. If you can not deal with that for a few hours for one day of your life, you have "hard headed" issues. Please do not ruin her day because you think your opinion is more important than her wedding. My mother in law tried this very early in our wedding planning, we decided to leave the parents out of the wedding and they were just invited quests because she was not willing to accept that her opinion needed to take the back seat. Just deal with it for a few hours at THEIR wedding.
Reply:well she obviously wants to be in control of what you wear. If you will be part of the ceremony then this is understandable to a point. if you are not part of the ceremony you shouyld wear what you want as long as its in good taste. good luck with the bride.
Reply:To make sure you don't clash! It's for your benifit. If you two don't have the greatest relationship, then maybe she wants to be sure you won't pick a bad dress on purpose.
Reply:To make sure you don't show up wearing white or clash horribly with what everyone else is wearing.
Reply:It's for the pictures. Parents of the happy couple will be posed with the wedding party and each other. The bride would like to ensure that the colors and styles are compatible.
Reply:Technically speaking, your future daughter in law doesn't have to approve your dress and shoes before the wedding. But, if this is something that she feels really strongly about, is it really worth getting upset about. There will be much bigger issues in your relationship to come.

She is probably doing this though for the benefit of pictures. Maybe she just wants to make sure that your dress doesn't clash with the bridesmaids or look to matched. Maybe she's coming from a thoughtful place.
Reply:So she knows its appropriate and will look good with everyone else for the pictures.
Reply:maybe its her way to try to connect to you.

she is probably trying to be friends.

its kinda hard to get used to your new mommy so she is probably trying to get used to it.

maybe you should go along with it so her feelings don't get hurt.
Reply:cuz it's her wedding and she probley wants everyone in the wedding party to look good
Reply:talk to your future daughter in law. I am thinking she has a "theme" to the wedding and wanting to make sure there is no odd color or style.
Reply:she's controling. Not a good sign for your son. Just because it is her day does not mean she should be able to dicate how her guests dress.
Reply:She probably just wants to make sure nobody stands out more than her in the pictures and make sure everyone looks appropriate.
Reply:yes you dont want to clash or match her mother

I have a pale (almost nude) pink dress - what color shoes?

The dress is just below knee lenght and is very plain on top (100% silk) and is very pale pink (almost skin color). The bottom of the dress is 3 tiers with beading on the bottom of all 3. Beautiful dress and I have matching nude shoes but was looking for something more fun...

I have a pale (almost nude) pink dress - what color shoes?
Id go with black strappies
Reply:I would wear cream or ivory shoes, or maybe silver strappy sandals.
Reply:same color of dress, or white
Reply:try pale suede high heels
Reply:Please don't wear black. Try a pretty silver or pale gold strappy heel. Nothing over the top. The bottom of the dress is beaded, so you don't want to detract from that. A simple sandal heel (just a strap or two to hold the thing on) would look great!
Reply:wear flipflops
Reply:I think some semi brighter pink shoes...high heels that open in the front to show your toes...or black...you will look super!
Reply:some sexy *** high heels.............lol
Reply:i would do with dimond studed straps or somthin blingy it will really bring out the dress and match
Reply:go with some cute new flip flops. you will look cute and fun in that
Reply:I'd go for a black lace up heel
Reply:If you are looking for fun red or orange will give you a great contrast
Reply:clear shoes
Reply:Either the matching nude shoes, or you could even go with clear strappies.

These are adorable:

Reply:Whatcolor are the beads on the dress If they are darker go with that color or for alot more fun try adding a little flair like a silver handbag and silver strappy shoes still to born grab a lite blue green or even blackshiny " scarf" you know the ones that are like wide ribbons and apair ofhoesin the same hue dont forget handbg and jewlry i complimenting colors or silver and gold go really bold with a pink and black stpiped scarf or wrap and shoes and purse. The accessories can help u mix and match or even change an outfit.
Reply:shiny black or sliver
Reply:light pink or peach
Reply:i would go with silver high heels and match it with a small silver hand bag!
Reply:Try apple green, and purse to match.
Reply:clear or silver, with silver accessories
Reply:If the dress is all one color, find a multi-colored shoe that will stand out. If you can find a sling back about 2-3 inches, closed toe, the shoe has to be bangin'. Look for a pink show that has three shades of pink with a splash of red.

DO NOT DO BLACK! you don't want to put such a harsh color against softness. Play the shoes up to not bring the dress down.
Reply:I would be careful about choosing a different color shoe. It

's the easiest way to make a beautiful dress look tacky. Steer clear of any color EXCEPT these: nude, white, pale pink. If there are different colors in the dress fabric, you have more leeway as to options for shoe colors.Simply add accessories in the same color as your shoes to bring the look together.
Reply:Either clear, white, gold, or silver shoes would probably look fine with it. I'd personally go with the gold or silver cause metallic is fun....at least to me it is. LOL!
Reply:Forget the shoes color..think about the underwear
Reply:Big black combat boots (nude).
Reply:DIAMANTE.DIAMANTE.DIAMANTE!!!
Reply:I absolutely disagree with the no black thing.

The contrast between a pale dress and a bold shoe is beautiful.

Please don't try to match the shoe with the dress. It's all about complimenting and/or contrasting. Stick with a neutral shoe. In your case, black patent leather shoes would go perfectly with that outfit. Brown is fine, too.

Round toe with a stacked heel.

Think stand-out, not blend-in :D

You might want to try EBAY first. I've bought brand name, brand new shoes on EBAY for a fraction from stores who didn't have the box! I think it might be worth a look.

I have a red dress, what color shoes should i wear?
black or silver. deff. NOT GOLD. that kinda looks tachy. wear silver jewlery
Reply:all are good...if you wear gold, wear gold accessories-like a purse and some jewelry, same with silver and black...I'd say go with silver to spice it up a bit :)..instead of black like everyone else
Reply:I would suggest black shoes to be the safest. For accessories, maybe a long silver necklace?
Reply:gold definitly

it would make the dress stand out
Reply:Gold. It gives you that glam look!
Reply:Black or silver. Black is probably the best.
Reply:I think gold, it's a nice warm colour so I think that'd be good. =]
Reply:definitely black and black accessories
Reply:black and earrings, necklace and toe ring and of course a clutch
Reply:Black is safe. Wear it with either gold or silver accessories, or a black purse.

Gold shoes would look lovely with the red, I think. Match with gold accessories.

Silver would look okay, I guess, but I don't think silver and red go together very well.
Reply:black is best
Reply:Perhaps black shoes would be best if you want to stay conservative and safe fashion wise. I'd accent it with black and white beads or a nice pair of silver hoop earrings. . . just do what you feel would be best, and remember, it's not just looking good, it's feeling good!
Reply:I'd say silver or gold. My Christmas party dress is red, and I'm wearing gold heels with it. Gives it more of a festive look, and that way you can coordinate your jewelry with your shoes. Black is a little boring and too traditional.
Reply:black heels would look the best
Reply:I'd do gold. its more elegant. I'd also do gold accessories maybe with a gold or black hand bag

Looking specifcally for adult style for a semi-formal event.

My wife is very petite and wears a size 4 shoe. Is there a retailer that carries dress shoes in that size?
I wear the same size in regular shoes, but have to sometimes go up a size or two in dress shoes (they have a different shape to them.) She may want to try that first, but if that's still too big, then her best bet may be a place like JCPenney, Macy's or Nine West (which makes extra petite sizes.) I found that Franco Sarto shoes are probably the best petite fit.
Reply:Try zappos here is the link for all high heels size 4 from their site.

Reply:It might be hard to find much of a selection in a retail store for that size. Your best bet is to shop on Zappos, because they have a huge selection for every size. This dress with these shoes...?
love the dress but i dont like the shoes

i'd say red fil flops instead or another pair of shoes
Reply:I love that a girl your age actually has fashion sense! Those shoes are perfect. Every 8th grade girl in the world wears flip flops, those shoes are a nice way to introduce style into the adolescent world. Cute!
Reply:ok the bottom of the shoes dont really go with the dress but thats my opinion and u prob should go with the red flip-flops.
Reply:I think this is great!!You have good taste!

I think flipflops are bad becouse they look kind of cheap(some) and you will get tangleg in them.
Reply:i would go with red flipflops. those shoes sorta look like 'old-grandma's'. they appear too old for an eighth grade dance.
Reply:no way defenately go with those shoes I think flip flops make too much noise and look bad.
Reply:wear white flats!

they go with everything!
Reply:i'd wear some white shoes with a little heel, nothing too high or some white or red dolly shoes. Cute dress btw

Gold Dress what accessories, shoes and stockings?

Gold Dress what accessories, shoes and stockings?
I'd say black tights with black heels, or you could wear nude colored hose with some gold heels. I'd go with pantyhose instead of stockings though, cause the dress looks a bit short. Cute dress though :)
Reply:It depends on the length of your dress. If it is short, no stockings are allowed. but make sure you have open toe strap shoes and paint the nails please. Shave your legs and get them shiny. If the dress is long and elegant, fish net thigh highs will do the job. No need for a purse. If you're looking that hot, you'll have guys buying you things all night. Black eyeliner is hot and use lip gloss. Can I buy you dinner? I lived in Connecticut for 6 years. I know how cold it gets. Bring a nice coat that matches your outfit.
Reply:wear black tights with black flats

or

gold pumps without any tights

. seeing as it is cold in ny...i would go with the first choice. wear long pearls and a matching gold headband. get a matching clutch (type of purse)

Is there anything i can stick to the bottom of dress shoes (female) to make them less slippery?

the sole is very smooth and walking on carpet is too slippery..looking for something i can stick or attach to make it slightly rougher.

Is there anything i can stick to the bottom of dress shoes (female) to make them less slippery?
All you need to do is scuff up the bottom of your shoes by either rubbing sandpaper on the soles, or my favorite way to to walk on asphalt with them on. These will make your shoes stop being slippery.
Reply:Wear them outside and scuff the bottoms up on the asphalt street or your concrete driveway should be good enough. This works really well, I have had to do it several times myself. Good Luck!
Reply:They actually make little stick-on things just for that. Look in the shoe or foot care sections of Walmart or Target, or in a shoe store like Bakers or maybe Nine West (I've gotten them at Bakers, but I'm not sure if Nine West carries them). They're just little plastic-ish things that you stick onto the bottoms of your shoes.
Reply:actually i think they sell something like that at aldo shoe stores.

i bought a pair of shoes and they asked if i wanted to buy some things to stick on the bottom to make them less slippery... i didn't. but you could ask them for that probably even without making a shoe purchase.
Reply:they do make the said grippers that you can stick on the back of your shoes , yes, but...a word of caution: Ive tried them-they wont work on a truly slippery floor, and they do fall off easily. I think you should try the walking outside and twisting thing that someone else mentioned.
Reply:Masking tape. Or they make special non-slip grippers that you can stick to the bottoms of your shoes. Any nicer shoe store should carry them.
Reply:I use the roughest grade sand paper I can find and sand them. Takes only a few minutes, it is cheap, and it won't change the way you walk in your shoe by altering the heighth.
Reply:you can scuff the bottom of the shoes with coarse sandpaper or spray hint of hairspray on the bottom and let it dry
Reply:o all u have to do is go outside on the sidewalk and twist ur feet and spin. that scratches the bottom making it less slippery
Reply:rub sand paper on the sole, it will roughen it up and you dont have to worry about anything falling off the bottom of your shoes or your shoes sticking to the ground.

What steps should I take to care for my leather dress shoes?

Usually, they don't last me a year and I think that may have to do with my carelessness. I want to stretch them out as long as I can and have them still look at the same time.

What steps should I take to care for my leather dress shoes?
Invest in some shoe trees (you can find them at Target, Wal Mart or any store that sells shoes, really). I know they may sound like a superficial accessory to some, but my father used them on his good Florsheim shoes and the leather never cracked or wrinkled and the shoes usually lasted him an average of three years. I used to work at Kenneth Cole, where men's shoes were our biggest seller, and we always sold shoe trees as an add-on accessory. The customers really loved them and swore by them.

Petroleum jelly is a quick fix, but not good for long term because the oil in the jelly will build up and stain the shoes after awhile. A good leather care lotion will keep the leather hydrated and clean.
Reply:You could buy a spray specifically for leather goods. It's sold in all Leather stores and is pretty cheap, about $10
Reply:Try some vaseline. The jar will be very handy for this and other items too. Pocketbooks, wallets. etc.
Reply:Use shoe trees. Keep your shoes clean and polished.Above all don't get them wet. You do these things and your shoes will last a long time, that is if they are quality shoes to begin with.
Reply:make sure the leather does not dry out or else it will crack. try rubbing some petroleum jelly on your shoes time and again. or, as an alternative, you can rub some candle wax to prevent chapping
Reply:Stay out of the water as much as possible when wearing them... stuffing them with crumbled newspaper when not wearing helps with the interior drying.....

What dress with these shoes?

i have a class reunion coming up and i want to look fabulous, so i have these stunning chocolate brown shoes and same color satin headband. so wat color dress should i wear.

What dress with these shoes?
I would go with a punch of color and go with a teal colored dress, which goes fabulous with chocolate brown. Those two colors are still very trendy right now. You would look so Fierce!!!
Reply:can I see a picture of the shoes?

Chocolate so you can match them with beige. something like this http://www.yoox.com/item/YOOX/BLUMARINE/...

or this http://www.yoox.com/item/YOOX/PRINGLE+WO...

or even this http://www.yoox.com/item/YOOX/BLUGIRL+BL...

I know this are very expensive, but you can have an idea of the style, and look for something similar.

Ciao
Reply:You could try something slightly different, like beige...but personally i'd go with a little-black-dress, and the same chocolate-brown colour clutch. You could also wear brown to get a very neutral, homogenous look, but that runs the risk of looking boring. So, i hope u have a good time!! :)
Reply:I'd honestly try to find a dress in the same chocolate colour. Wearing one colour from top to bottom looks really classy, and it draws the eye up and down, if you're worried about looking thin.
Reply:I agree with Bella77, punch it up with a great color. Wearing everything in the same color, especially brown, might be very boring.
Reply:I say definetly go with the same color. If you cant find the exact same color, then go with black. black matches everything and it especially goes well with brown shades

good luck! :)
Reply:Neutral colours, brown and beige will look sweet. Cream will make you look extra cute, and good enough to eat. A stylish strapp knee length dress would be nice.
Reply:the same color. or black it goes with every thing.

Red dress with black shoes?

Ok ladies...Can I wear a red dress with black stappy high heel sandles? Or would that seem tacky? or how about a rose colored skirt with black top and shoes?

Red dress with black shoes?
I prefer the second choice...but, if you go for the red with the black just accentuate it with some black up top. Like: headband, earrings, necklace....,belt...etc... Ahhhh..never mind go for the red and have FUN!!!!!
Reply:sounds cute the questuion is DO YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WEARING THEM IF YES THEN GO AHEAD AND ENJOY
Reply:Dear god yes you can wear strappy high heeled sandals anytime!!
Reply:'Of Course you can' black is the absence of color it will go with anything.
Reply:Red dress and black shoes are a definite go. Make sure you tie the look together with a purse, headband, or jewelry.
Reply:Both sound lovely! Black shoes are the safest bet with any strong colour like Red. Besides, what looks good is more about how you carry yourself and your confidence than about matching things properly.
Reply:all are good exept the sandals. if ur going with skirt, black over the knee socks or stockings look great! are u going to a dance party or something? later.
Reply:both sound really cute to me!
Reply:i would go w/ the red dress and black heels that's def. not tacky..love the idea
Reply:The red dress with black strappy heels will be pretty. You aren't going to a funeral though are you? LOL
Reply:I know nothing about womens fashion, Im just answering this, to see how many women tisk me.

Red dress with black high heels? As long as its a very ankle/foot revealing strappy kind of shoe, something fuller and shoe like might draw attention. The rose skirt with the black top sounds nicer :)
Reply:wear what you feel comfortable and confident in. if you look people in the eye, they wont notice what you are wearing :)

Do you like this dress and these shoes together?
Definitely! The floraly bits on the shoes pick up on the neckline of the dress. And because the dress is all one colour you can get away with being as adventurous as you like with the shoes!
Reply:the dress is nice but the shoes are something you pick up at dollar general or the local flea market.
Reply:the dress is okay, but i hate the shoes

also baby doll dresses are going out so i wouldnt invest in a new one

maybe get a tight high waisted dress instead with sky high bright heels and matchin bag
Reply:yeah. i really dig the whole outfit.

throw that bag in with it too!
Reply:well it only depends if you do.
Reply:I don't like it together.

How to wear brown dress with black shoes?

I have this medium brown satin dress with white and pink polka dots. Almost all say that black shoes don't go with a brown dress but I have no choice because we are required to wear black closed shoes. what should I do?

How to wear brown dress with black shoes?
wear a (thick) black belt. =)
Reply:wear black ballet flats
Reply:Accessories everytime (: Try a black belt because then the black belt will match the shoes. If that does not work for you at Forever 21 or Claries get a black necklace , like a lock with a little opening in it. Very cute! Or A black headband, or lol black braclets and rings. Goodluck. If you don't like any of the ideas no sweat, black goes with everything! ^ ^
Reply:add black belt
Reply:At first I would say don't but since you have to... try not over doing the accessories or hair. Try finding the smallest black shoes you can. By smallest I mean the least amount of fabric. There are plenty of shoes out there that have a closed toe but a ton less fabric between the toes and heel. that way they are less distracting. Other then that make sure you have a fierce lip gloss so people care more about what you have on your lips and don't look down. I'm kidding. Ladies pull off black and brown all the time. Have fun and go with it. And besides since black shoes are required you won't be the only one with this problem. I'm sure you will look amazing!!!

Aqua/turquoise prom dress...what color shoes/purse?

color pics at:

http://new.photos.yahoo.com/clomppers/al...

It's a spaghetti-strap, floor length dress. very simple, but the material is gorgeous (aqua, with silver threads)

What color shoes and purse would work?

and what about jewelry?

thanks!

Aqua/turquoise prom dress...what color shoes/purse?
It looks like a beautiful dress! Wear silver strappy shoes and get a silver purse. And a necklace with pearls or pearlized beading.
Reply:either silver or a pearl color
Reply:I would go with silver on shoes and jewlery. I would try some dangling silver earrings and a silver colours choker. Main thing is to keep it simple and not over do the jewlery.
Reply:I would wear silver jewelry because there's silver in the material. You can even do some cool beads instead of the normal silver or pearls. Colors that go with the aqua/turquoise is coral, violet, deep orange, silver, cream, lime, yellow. These colors are some what close of the color wheel and will go nicely with your dress..

Have a fabulous time.
Reply:i would do silver jewelry and shoes..it looks really pretty in the pics
Reply:i would go w/ something like shiny gold shoes and a purse to match, for jewelry try the same,

have a great prom,

~luvurdog~
Reply:Well if you can afford to splurge you could purchase silver shoes and a silver purse. Black shoes and black purse would also work.

You could also find black shoes with noticible silver accents on it, and go with a black purse with noticible silver accents on it as well.

As for jewellery, something smaller and elegant would look nice as u wouldn't want to overdo the silver part. A black and silver choker would do and and some elegant silverish drop earring *tear drop* If you don't want the choker, u could get a tear drop silver necklace.
Reply:black or silver!!!!
Reply:shoes - silver

purse - a little bit of a pearly color

jewelry - a pearl earrings and necklace (necklace: at least five pearls not more than that)

*tip: i recommend that you pulled your hair up...
Reply:silver
Reply:ahm i think it is better to use a pair of shoes with silver touch and a purse with the same color with the shoes..about the accessories you must use diamonds or any gems that is sparkling.
Reply:I don't think white or black high heels would look very good. I would see if you could find sparkly silver high heels, and the same color purse. If you are wearing you're hair up, i would have long, but lightweight, silver earings, and if the top of your dress goes a bit low, you might like to have a simple silver necklace. If you can find matching earrings %26amp; necklace, that might be a good idea.Hope this helps!!!

Those shoes are the cutest shoes ive ever seen!!!!!!!!!1

The orange dress goes great all you would need is a naklace and some braclets that is super duper cute! It's not fancy though so don't wear it to the prom or somthing.

Really cute!
Reply:i think the orange dress goes best. but maybe if you can get the purple dress in a bright color like lime green(any neon color just about), or hubba-hubba-electric-wild-lime-green as my dad would say it. They all look so cute.
Reply:the orange but it's an ugly dress the shoes are really really cute though theyd be cute with capris and a tank top

How do you walk in those high heeled boots or dress shoes?

Especially when the heals are skinny?

How do you walk in those high heeled boots or dress shoes?
You don't. Those shoes are not made for walking, but for very short tippy toe walks... that's how, stand on your tippy toes, putting all the weight on your balls of your feet and none on your heels.
Reply:WITH MY SHOULDERS BACK AND MY SWAGGER ON BABY!
Reply:All you do is walk on the balls of your feet! Eventually it hurts...you can't rest on your heels, cause your shoes won't let ya. Once you get used to them, they're a breeze,,,,try it!
Reply:good posture, look straight ahead, and lots of practise
Reply:You know I am 48 now and wear low heels but when I was young I wore stilletto's almost every day. I even wore them to go shopping in for the day...I must have been crazy. They killed my feet and gave me blisters but man i looked good and thats all I cared about at the time.
Reply:Clean your house in them, carefully, if you clean your house in them for about 2 days, you get lots of practice. Also, if you have carpeted floors and linoleum, there's a difference when you walk on one or the other. So practice on both.
Reply:take little steps
Reply:it just takes practice. and your feet will really hurt for a while, but now my feet are used to it and i wear high heals all day every day.
Reply:stick to comfy shoes. lol
Reply:practise. increase heel heigh slowly, wear them home a lot. daily...
Reply:uhhh PRACTICE
Reply:i don't know either? my school shoes are flat, and i dont have eny shoes with heels on it..
Reply:You get used, with practice, to a low heel, and work yourself up to a higher heel, bit by bit.
Reply:It takes practice, you have to break them in every time you buy a new pair...LOL

How can I get the foot stink out of my dress shoes?

febreeze, lysol

How can I get the foot stink out of my dress shoes?
This is an interesting question because I answered this same question a few days prior. The answer is stuff them with newspaper and let sit overnight. They should be free of odor the next morning.
Reply:With my hands or with your big swallon boobies of JUSTICES. dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Try rubbing baking soda in them. If that doesn't work and they're old and they've been worn a lot, they may have perma-stench and you have to throw them out. If they were canvas shoes I'd say wash them in bleach before giving up, but you can't do that with dress shoes unfortunately.
Reply:get some foot powder and put it in them.
Reply:try. oder eaters . my opion?
Reply:Too late. Once the smell is there, it will never go away. I had terrible foot and shoe stink once because I wore my plastic shoes with no nylons.

This is how I fixed it: I put my feet it watered down bleach for 5 minutes once, and then a week later again. It killed my foot problem! I had to throw out all my shoes and start wearing nylons.
Reply:Baking soda.
Reply:Sprinkle baby powder or baking soda in them.

Another thing that works is to stuff them with newspapers. Both ways work by absorbing the odor.
Reply:spray with tinactin, wait 10 minutes and use baby power/talcum power
Reply:Baking soda
Reply:place them in a plastic bag %26amp; put them in your freezer. the cold will kill the bacteria.
Reply:ewww, i hope thats the only area of your body that stinks.
