Silver made the whole outfit to shiny, and with my fairness IDK about black. They could both still be options though.

Edit: Your boyfriend is one lucky guy. With you being 6'2" and looking the way you do, since they like tall girls for models, you could very easily be a model. I'm pretty confident that you'll easily be the best looking girl at your prom.
Since you said you don't like to wear heels because of your height, maybe those flat shiny shoes that look kinda like heels but flat.
But I should also add that you did a great job picking your dress. That dress looks absolutely perfect on you, more perfect than any dress has ever looked for a girl. Consider continuing to use it after the prom for dates and nights out on the town. You'll turn lots of heads (but with you as naturally hot as you are, you'd turn heads anyway).

Wearing brown dress with black shoes..will I pull it off?
I have this medium brown satin dress and we are required to wear black closed shoes which people say is a no-no but I have no choice so I bought a very dark brown ballerina shoes which almost looks like black with a light brown gem-like accessory in front. Would it be ok? Any suggestions? thanks

Definitely! The brown gems will tie into your dress perfectly. Also, try using a black purse. This will tie in the black and make it stand out a bit less.
Navy and black were all over the runways this past fall/winter season. That's always been a HUGE pet peeve of mine, but it worked! Who knows, maybe black and brown will be next winter's hot combo! :)

If you want to wear a black shoe, you could probably do this if you wear a very fine denier stocking, and a black bolero jacket. Maybe one of those new fuzzy ones?

Aww, that's really pretty!!! I would go with a bare neck because of the brooch and an simple yet elaborate bracelet. Then for shoes i would get a pair of strappy silver heels. And i love the hair that's in the picture...do something like that! Maybe with a half updo.

Aww, that's really pretty!!! I would go with a bare neck because of the brooch and an simple yet elaborate bracelet. Then for shoes i would get a pair of strappy silver heels. And i love the hair that's in the picture...do something like that! Maybe with a half updo.

What color shoes should I buy to match my prom dress?
I have an orange prom dress with clear beads and the dress is a few inches past my knees but its not a long dress so my shoes will be seen what color shoes should i buy to go with it?
A lot of people told me gold or silver, but i don't really think that matches too well...

I had a yellow dress and wore slides with gold, silver, and bronze sequins with it.

IMHO leather is best material for the soles of men's shoes. (And the uppers, too!) I have some men's dress shoes that are about 25 years old, and are still going strong having been resoled with leather many times.

Get some good quality peppermint essential oils, and put it on your feet before you get dressed. The peppermint has a cooling effect, and it's all natural, so it won't be harmful to put on your skin regularly.

rub the soles with a piece of sand paper, or wear your dress shoes and walk around your drive way a Little the second I've been told works to scratch up the bottom of the shoe but I've only used the first one myself. i sandpapered a pair of heels i had to wear to a wedding i figured slipping then would be bad.

What can I do to fix slick leather soles on my dress shoes? I'm tired of slipping.?
rub the soles with a piece of sand paper, or wear your dress shoes and walk around your drive way a Little the second I've been told works to scratch up the bottom of the shoe but I've only used the first one myself. i sandpapered a pair of heels i had to wear to a wedding i figured slipping then would be bad.

What do you think of short, loafer socks with dress shoes?
I think it's great during the summer time. Do any of you male fashionistas do this? What do you ladies think? What is the word for male fashionista, is it sartorialist or can you can you call a man a fashionista. I saw the look in a recent issue of GQ. It might look a little informal to the casual looker, but is this stylish or does it just not look right?

Bonus if you can get ones with cute bows to match the ribbons...Or, if you could get a bracelet to match the necklace and do some plainer gold earrings that would be cute, too.

I think the brown dress will suit your colouring better than the blue one. I would say strappy sandals would look nice, with a good heel on them, but not too flashy as they will be hidden most of the time. I think gold would be a nice colour if you were to go with the brown. Its a gorgeous dress, enjoy prom! :)

Again it depends how 'formal' you want to look- updos are traditionally more formal. As for accessories- i say less is best- you want you and your dress to be the centrepiece not the accessories and as for the shoes- make sure they are comfy enough to dance the night away.

A lot of times though, the back of the shoe can dig into your foot if they haven't been broken in yet, so I suggest you either break the backs of the shoe before wearing them to work or buy ones made of soft leather.

2. Don't let your husband be alone with her unless you find out for sure it's not true.
3. Talk to a counselor to find out how to confront him
4. Confront him, and don't be stupid enough to fall for any lies or excuses.
5. If you find out it's true, LEAVE him and never go back!

It is not good to accuse someone without solid facts. Silly thought? Don't underestimate the sneakiness of the human mind. Try to intelligently, tactfully investigate things further by asking your daughter and husband (separately) about the stained shoes. Be smarter than and more thoughtful than them to find out the real deal. Ask them to tell you what they think caused the stains? Tell them you are highly disturbed at the possible implications. Give them each a chance to come clean. Compare their answers and take it from there.

That is more than just a little gross. It is totally inappropriate.
Maybe the both of you, as husband and wife, should talk about it in private. (an adult dialog to communicate respectfully and politely about this issue)
Maybe the both of you could take measures (between the 2 of you) and give him a more appropriate, more pleasant spot to do such a thing.......and perhaps a bit more often as well?
Just an honest thought.
Oh and as "punishment" I believe he ought to buy your daughter at least 2 brand new pairs of shoes (any kind of her choice) for each pair he @#$%@'d up.

You are going to knock them out girl. Red and silver compliment each other, forget that warm and cool thing. Contrast between colours (especially in accessories) is very striking. Also chandelier earrings and a bare neck is very sexy, the long sexy ballerina neck with up-swept hair.
Reply:I think since your clucth is gold and your jewelry is gold than gold shoes would be great with your dress. I went to the link and looked and the dress and the looked at the shoes and those two together would not be a good combination. Plus your clutch is soooo cute so it's a must have with the dress. Get gold shoes, not deep deep gold just a nice simple pair of gold heel with the gold jewelry to match. If you wear your hair up get longer earring (the ones that dangle) esp if you have a long neck it will look great. But studs will be great also. Make sure you keep the jewelry simple don't over do it. Earrings, a ring, a bracelet, and a nice necklace will do the trick. Remember the dress should speak for itself the jewelry will just give it a little push into the spotlight.

Besides which metallic colour shoes will go with anything (unlike red ones) so you will have more use out of them in the long run.
I think silver is the right choice, it has a sort of frosty-ness to it that is really appropriate for winter parties. But you really should match silver jewellery to the ensemble if you can.

Your choices look good to me, as long as you can find earrings in silver. I'm not a fan of mixing metallics (gold and silver in this case) as it tend to look too gaudy for a formal event. Silver shoes, silver purse, silver jewelry. Gold shoes, gold purse, gold jewelry. Or go with your basic black (or white) shoes and purse, and wear whatever jewelry you want.

You are going to knock them out girl. Red and silver compliment each other, forget that warm and cool thing. Contrast between colours (especially in accessories) is very striking. Also chandelier earrings and a bare neck is very sexy, the long sexy ballerina neck with up-swept hair.
Reply:I think since your clucth is gold and your jewelry is gold than gold shoes would be great with your dress. I went to the link and looked and the dress and the looked at the shoes and those two together would not be a good combination. Plus your clutch is soooo cute so it's a must have with the dress. Get gold shoes, not deep deep gold just a nice simple pair of gold heel with the gold jewelry to match. If you wear your hair up get longer earring (the ones that dangle) esp if you have a long neck it will look great. But studs will be great also. Make sure you keep the jewelry simple don't over do it. Earrings, a ring, a bracelet, and a nice necklace will do the trick. Remember the dress should speak for itself the jewelry will just give it a little push into the spotlight.

Reply:Sounds fabulous! Silver or gold will go well with red. You're right that you shouldn't accessorize in red unless you have an exact match as it will clash horribly. Besides which metallic colour shoes will go with anything (unlike red ones) so you will have more use out of them in the long run.
I think silver is the right choice, it has a sort of frosty-ness to it that is really appropriate for winter parties. But you really should match silver jewellery to the ensemble if you can.

Your choices look good to me, as long as you can find earrings in silver. I'm not a fan of mixing metallics (gold and silver in this case) as it tend to look too gaudy for a formal event. Silver shoes, silver purse, silver jewelry. Gold shoes, gold purse, gold jewelry. Or go with your basic black (or white) shoes and purse, and wear whatever jewelry you want.
